Tropic Products

What is not to love about a brand whose products contain only the purest naturally derived ingredients free from harmful toxic chemicals. I know that we hear this quite a lot with brands, and unfortunately it is not always true, but I have a lot of respect for Tropic, as they do genuinely use premium natural ingredients within their products. Also their love for animals is clear, as their products are not tested on animals, and they refuse to use any products derived from them; products which are found in so many other beauty products, like lanolin, beeswax or honey. They list all of their ingredients on each product so that you are fully aware of what you are putting on your skin. Their honest, compassionate beliefs and values are what makes them stand out from the rest.

Now to test the actual products.

The lovely Iona (whose page I will link at the bottom) reached out to me and asked if I would like to trial some of the Tropic products. I chose the Lash Extension Kit as I am still on the hunt for a good mascara after requests from friends and family, and also the Face Lift Clay Mask, which I thought would do my skin the world of good with this change in weather.

Let’s start with the Tropic Mascara Kit. I was actually quite impressed by this product. The packaging is incredible, which you might have heard me say already if you saw my Instagram story not too long ago. The set comes in a black cardboard packaging with the brands logo on, but the thing that really impressed me was the actual product packaging. The gel and fibres both come in the most luxe gold packaging, with the brand logo in black. The look and feel is just amazing. In terms of the actual product the fibres really allow you to extend your lashes and mimic that individual fake lash look. You can apply the fibres and gel as many times as you like until you reach your desired look. I chose the black colour as I tend to wear black mascara, although I believe you can get brown too. The only negative I have about the product is that if you like thick lashes, you can’t really achieve that look with it. It builds up the lashes lengthways, but not so much the thickness. If you are after a more natural (but longer lash) look, this is perfect for you.

Now for the Tropic Face Lift brightening tightening face mask. I love a good face mask, especially in the colder months, as your skin just needs that extra bit of TLC. Again, the packaging was also pretty impressive. It comes in a deep yellow pot with a metallic looking off white lid. Although the packaging is plastic, it is quite weighty, and is finished with a smooth feel to it, making it feel much more expensive than it actually is. The actual product is nice and thick and feels really soothing when put on to the face and neck. It is left on for 10-20 minutes, in which time you feel it solidifying. I love the feel of a mask drying, as you really feel as though it is tightening up your skin. Once it had completely dried, I washed it off using a face cloth and water. It came off really easily. The first time I used it my face looked a little red after (probably all the bad toxins coming out) but felt amazing. After using it a couple of times, my skin felt and looked great. Definitely what I need with this cold weather lurking. I highly recommend this product. Plus you don’t need to use a lot at a time, so it lasts a good while.

Iona also very kindly added in a the Tropic Organic Nail Nectar for me to try. Scented with May Chang essential oil, it literally smells like sweets in a bottle. The product is blended with passionflower and almond oil to nourish nails and cuticles, and it actually contains real starflowers inside, which I thought was such a nice touch. I actually have quite strong nails anyway, but I imagine this would be great for somebody with weak nails to use, especially after having fake nails on, to strengthen their own nails and cuticles, and get them back to normal.

I had never used any Tropic products before, but I am definitely keen to try more. The packaging and the products are both fantastic. I was really really impressed overall. The Face Lift Face Mask is only priced at £16 which is amazing value for what you get. The Mascara Kit costs £25 which isn’t bad considering it is two products in one, and much cheaper than actually having your eyelashes done professionally. Lastly, the Nail Nectar is priced at £8, which is amazing for a decent nail strengthener.

If you are also keen to try some of the products (or maybe treat someone for Christmas), you can find the products here.
