I think it’s safe to say that I can’t remember the last time I rocked bare nails. I have always been a nail polish person, and I remember I used to hate it when I worked in a restaurant and was not allowed to wear any. I normally paint them myself at home, however I do occasionally treat myself to getting them done in a salon, normally before holidays or special occasions. When I do have them done professionally, I always opt for gels, as I personally prefer the look of them. I just wish they would last longer. I have friends who have their gels done every 3 weeks, however, by the third week, they don’t tend to look great, which really bugs me. Because of this, I get frustrated with them and end up attempting to peel them off, which in turn makes them look even worse.
I was given the opportunity to have them done before my holiday at the end of September by a nail technician not too far from where I live. She wanted someone to review a new brand of nail polish she had been using, which is called The Gel Bottle Inc. After checking with the supplier that the nail polish was vegan and cruelty-free, I agreed to having them done.
I chose the bubblegum pink colour, holding on to the last of summer. The great thing about this particular gel polish is that it is supposed to be longer lasting than regular gel polish. I couldn’t wait to test it out and see.
I was holidaying in Copenhagen, so it would be a good test to see whether they did hold out, as we would be out and about doing things for 5 days straight.
Once applied, they looked fab, slightly thicker looking than regular gel, but I loved how they turned out. The colour was gorgeous, and thankfully I had a similar colour Barry M nail varnish at home, so my toe nails could match. Yup, I am one of those weirdo’s who has to have matching hands and feet.
I now completely understand why so many people rave about this polish. It is definitely much more withstanding than other regular gel polishes I have had. Two weeks later my nails were still going strong with no chips or any sign of distress. Obviously they had grown out a bit, but the polish itself was still completely in tact. Usually by this point, I have chips or marks. The best part about it was it lasted another week with no complaints from me. You could easily have this brand of gel on, and only need to get your nails done every 3-4 weeks, as opposed to the 2-3 weeks needed with other gel polishes.
I definitely recommend. Also, if you live in the Hertfordshire area like myself, head over to The Little Nail Lounge’s Instagram or Facebook, where you can contact Hayley about getting them done (you can say I recommended you). She also does eyelash and hair extensions if either of those are of interest to you x
