Now if you follow me on Instagram, you will definitely have seen this Salt of the Earth vegan & cruelty-free deodorant which I recently got from Holland & Barrett.
I was really intrigued to try it for a number of reasons. Firstly, it is teeny tiny travel sized, and with my holiday coming up where I am only taking hand luggage, I thought it would be a really good addition to my mini-case. Secondly, it is completely natural, and of course vegan & cruelty-free, and it is also completely different to anything I have tried before.
Although extremely excited about the potential of this new product, I was also a little concerned because it was so different to any other vegan & cruelty-free deodorant I had used before. For starters, you apply it to wet skin, or wet the actual product before putting it on. It looks like a rock, which is strange enough as it is, however if left to dry properly after each use, it says it can last months, which is amazing for only £3.49 (you can get a bigger one for £4.99). Next, it is unscented, which I wasn’t sure how I would feel about this. Although I am not a naturally smelly person, a little scent under the pits never hurt anyone.
I always give myself a few days of testing products, as you can never really gage how good a product is from only using it once, especially if it is very different to what you are normally used to.
I did think it was a little strange at first, because of the no scent, and also because it didn’t really feel as though you were using any product, except splattering a bit of water on your pits, H O W E V E R, amazingly it works really well. Once I got past the no scent, and way it works, I actually really liked it. I normally use roll-ons, of which I have to let dry before putting clothes on, so it was really nice to not have that deodorant residue on my pits, and on my clothes. Also I used it before going to the gym, and it kept me feeling fresh and clean all throughout my workout and after.
Just to add to this, a little advice I got from someone if you do decide to try it. Be very careful you don’t drop the deodorant, as if it hits something hard, like the sink or bathroom floor tiles, it will shatter and break. The only downfall I’d say. Not that it has happened to me (yet), but I can understand how easy it could be for that to happen, especially as bathrooms tend to be made from hard materials, such as tiles or marble.
This awesome vegan & cruelty-free deodorant is already packed in my hand luggage case, ready for tomorrow. I can’t wait to test it whilst away. Will report back again via Instagram, and see if I still love it whilst in a warmer climate, so be sure to keep your eye on my Instagram page if you want to see more 🙂
Have a great week everyone x
