Magical Tree Body Butters

Magical Tree Body Butters

I was lucky enough to be sent some Magical Tree Products. Incase you are wondering who Magical Tree are, they are a fab company (created by Laz & Emy) promoting a lifestyle full of fairly traded organic products, a company who believe that our bodies deserve more than harsh chemicals and ingredients which have been tested on animals.

Their products are made with simple, non toxic ingredients, and are 100% pure, made with natural oils, butters and pure essential oils. They use glass jars and bottles with aluminium tin lids which can be recycled (I love this about them), and they don’t use packaging boxes for their products as they consider them unnecessary waste of paper and ink. Most of their products are vegan, however I believe the only one which isn’t is the lip balm, as it contains beeswax. Their designs and labelling is simplistic but effective, and I love these small companies where the owners get involved in all aspects of design and production. It makes the whole brand much more personal, making the brand and products much more special.

I was sent their four new body butters to trial – Orange & Grapefruit, Cocoa & Peppermint, Geranium and Lavender & Chamomile. I have never actually used body butters before receiving these, I have always used either creams or oils, so it was a nice change, and I always love trying new things.

First things first when they came through the door was to have a sniff and check out the smells. You could easily smell the essential oils within each body butter. Each body butter is blended with shea, cocoa, mango butter, grapeseed, coconut and sweet almond oil, making them easy to apply, and ensuring they soak into the skin nicely.

After having a look at Emy’s blog post showing all the different ways you can use these body butters, I actually started using them all over my body. I wanted to see how my skin was with them compared to the moisturisers and body oils which I tended to use. I actually really enjoyed using them. Once applied you can see and feel the oils within them, and as long as you don’t use too much in one go, they don’t feel greasy at all. They soak in really nicely, and although the scents are pretty strong when smelling straight from the tub, I personally think once applied the skin absorbs the product well, and the smell becomes a lot more subtle, which is great.

They left my skin feeling hydrated and soft. Depending on the scent you like, there will definitely be one to suit you. I definitely recommend giving them a go. I hope they bring out some more scents too (coconut especially – my  F A V O U R I T E) as I really enjoyed using them. It certainly was a nice change from my regular products. Do let me know if you decide to give them a go, either in the comments below or via Instagram.
