When I first discovered (well, was told about) Eden perfumes, I literally cannot explain how excited I was. By this point, I had been vegan for about a year and a half, and vegan and cruelty-free perfumes were definitely one of the hardest things to find.
A huge lover of Christian Dior Hypnotic Poison, I am not going to lie, I was gutted that I wouldn’t be able to use it again, but of course, it was not worth buying it in my eyes if testing on animals was going to be the result.
I remember sitting at our hotel in Gatwick (my friend and I were off to Berlin), and this is when she mentioned Eden perfumes to me, telling me how they match high street scents, and were completely cruelty-free. I got straight onto their website to see if they sold Christian Dior Hypnotic Poison. Much to my delight they did. Of course I ordered, and C O U L D N O T wait to receive it in the post.
Once the initial excitement passed, I am not going to lie, I was feeling a little sceptical about it all, as I thought there has got to be something which is going to let it down, whether that be the actual scent, or the fact that maybe it won’t last as long as the regular one. However, I had nothing to worry about. I could not believe how much it smelt like the real thing, plus it lasted all day. I couldn’t believe it.
One of the great things about Eden perfumes is they are only based in Brighton, and if you take your empty bottles to them, they refill them for cheaper. They normally cost £18 online, for a 30ml including delivery, and I think it cost me £50 to refill 5 bottles.
Since my initial purchase, I have tried Chloe, which has become a firm favourite of mine, and also Marc Jacobs Daisy, which is perfect for summer. As my 5 bottles are slowly coming to an end, I will definitely be getting a day trip to Brighton booked in for some time in the near future.
Not only are the scents spot on, but the customer service was also top notch. Super helpful, and extremely friendly, we ended up spending a good portion of our afternoon in the Eden perfume shop.
Oh, and I also mentioned it to my brother, as they mimic Creed, which is a really expensive mens aftershave. He tried it, and absolutely loved it. Said it smelt exactly the same as the real thing and lasted all day too.
So, there we go, mens and womens fragances, at a fraction of the cost, smelling exactly the same as the high street brands, and of course, no animals hurt in the process. Honestly, regardless of whether you are vegan or not, I definitely recommend trying them. You can buy bigger bottles in store, but I think the 30ml ones are great, perfect for your handbags, and also perfect for when you go on holiday.
